Are you ready for some Praise and Worship?  That will be the cry at the 12th Super Bowl Gospel Celebration.

In its twelfth year, the event comes to North Texas on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Music Hall in Fair Park.  Like Texas, this event is big and will be bigger and better than ever! This year’s featured guest is Grammy Award winning artist Mary Mary.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities have been named the official North Texas charitable partner for the 2011 Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. The partnership was announced during a private reception to kick-off the Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities signature fund raising event, the Second Annual Emmitt Smith Celebrity Invitational.

The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration brings an evening of fellowship and fun for the entire family to Dallas during Super Bowl XLV Weekend. In its 12th year, this inspirational concert features top NFL players, Grammy Award-winning and multiplatinum-selling artists, and special guests. SBGC is the only place you will see the NFL PLAYERS All-Star Choir, a performance that has become one of the most anticipated events during Super Bowl Weekend. Named by USA Today as “One of the Best Super Bowl Events to Attend,” SBGC is the only inspirational concert that aired on ESPN. Additionally, each year, a portion of ticket sales go to a local charitable organization. Mark your calendars for Friday, February 4, 2011, 7:30 p.m. for the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration at the Music Hall at Fair Park. The event also serves as a fundraiser with a portion of the proceeds benefiting national and local charities. More than $400,000 and 5,000 tickets have been donated over the last eleven years.

The concert series is the National Football League ™s (NFL) only sanctioned gospel event, and attracts top gospel/contemporary Christian and mainstream artists, marquee players and the NFL PLAYERS Choir. The Choir made its debut at the 2008 show with more than 40 active and former players under the direction of Grammy Award-winning gospel artist, Donnie McClurkin. The Choir has included league stars and longtime event supporters such as Pro Bowlers Drew Pearson (Cowboys/Retired), Eugene Lockhart (Dallas/Retired) Tim Brown Raiders/Retired), Darrell Green (Redskins/Retired), Ray Lewis (Ravens), Leonard Weaver (Eagles) and Tommie Harris (Bears) to name a few. The NFL PLAYERS Choir recently performed for the first time outside of Super Bowl Gospel Celebration at XLV Countdown Live From Cowboys Stadium, the official kick-off for Super Bowl XLV, singing a soulful rendition of America the Beautiful.

Since its inception, the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration has drawn crowds in the thousands and has demonstrated growth year-over-year, with recent sell outs of venues in major markets hosting the Super Bowl including Miami, Detroit, Jacksonville, Houston, San Diego and Phoenix.

Artists who have performed at the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration include music icons Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Jaci Velasquez, Marvin Sapp, Yolanda Adams, Israel & New Breed, Mary Mary and many more. Marquee football players that have been involved with the concert include: Donovan McNabb, Deion Sanders, Cris Carter, Kurt Warner, John Elway, Jerry Rice, and Coaches Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith
