Open Letter To The Game About This Crazy Cover

The religious-themed artwork features a portrait of Jesus with a teardrop tattoo under his eye, a Jesus piece chain around his neck, and red bandana over his mouth.

“You want to believe in God, but you don’t want to be criticized and ridiculed by people who think that they’re better than you,I don’t want to feel like I can’t love God or appreciate Jesus and have to put down that blunt.”Game told Rap-Up TV of the concept.

Jesus Piece, Game’s fifth and possibly final album for Interscope, is due in December featuring appearances from Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, and Kanye West, who is featured on the title track.

    Dear Game,

I don’t want to criticize you because I am better than you. I want to correct you because you are misguided. Using the image that is considered sacred by many and applying gang overtones to it;  is not okay.

I understand what you are trying to get at. You are trying to say that Jesus was the first true rebel.  You felt the connection of being a prophet criticized and crucified.

#1 Jesus would never wear an icon of himself.

#2. Jesus would never wear a bandana that symbolizes masking one’s identity. Jesus was always very very clear about his identity and who he was and IS!
