Christians Must Have Constructive Talks On Homosexuality

From EthicsDaily.com

Recently, both Miss California and megachurch pastor Rick Warren got slammed for speaking to the issue of gay rights. While each pleased some and infuriated others, both got beaten up pretty badly in this very public and often nasty debate.

Perhaps I feel more sympathy than most for these public figures because I have never said or written anything on the subject of homosexuality without unintentionally hurting or angering people I love. Still, the question of how the church and culture should respond to the issue of gay rights is not going away. Is it possible for Christians to enter into a constructive conversation on such a contentious matter? Toward that end, let me suggest some “talking points.”

First, gay people are not first and foremost an “issue.” They are , people. And as people, they are beloved of God (John 3:16; 1 John 4:8). Even those who regard certain people as their “enemy” are called by Christ to love them (Matthew 5:44-45).

I don’t see the last comment I made here, so either it was deleted or misplaced in cyberspace.
To have a constructive talk on this subject it will take both sides being able to express their views but it must be dealt with in pieces.
I cannot begin here if I come a day later and it still says “0″comments

What kind of Pastor are you? What church? The Church of SATAN?! There is no “wiggle” room about abominations in the sight of GOD! Just because JESUS THE CHRIST loves all his creations, it doesn’t give us the right to be sinners! Did JESUS love SATAN and the fallen angels? Will he still punish them for their acts of sin? Did JESUS love Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot…etc? Will he not send them to HELL for rebellion?! Do not try to re-write scriptures and promote a satanic view point [then] try to cover it up with an “intellectual” spin. You should be ashamed of yourself! Calling yourself a pastor! A pastor of what? The church of the fallen angel? I can see how whole churches will be going to “Hell” from listening to so-called pastors like you! GOD does not change! What was wrong in the time of ADAM is wrong now! Certain people have greater responsiblities in the Kingdom of GOD [therefore] punishment for their failures are quicker and more decisive! We have all sinned and came short of the glory – that is not the issue! The issue is when you condone the sin and do not try to stop it- you give yourself over to a perverted mind-set! GOD does not care about what “we” think is a “right”! HE has his own rules! Hey, Pastor! Did you know that there are no “bill of Rights” in HEAVEN? Did you know that “freedom of religion”, expression, privacy and freedom of the press is not allowed?! There is only ONE RELIGION in HEAVEN! There are no abortions! There are no porno stores! No abstract art! Certainly, there are no praticing homosexuals and/or lesbians! Where are they? In HELL! Along with SATAN and all the others that followed his words instead of JESUS THE CHRIST! A simple test, if JESUS is a myth, then why hasn’t a representative from these other religions [returned] from the dead and told you so? You would think out of the billions of people that worship the other religions and SATAN [directly] that at least one would tell you the GOSPEL of JESUS THE CHRIST is false?! Where are they? In HELL! They cannot get out! You don’t need to have a conversation about sin – you need to save souls from the punishment of sinful acts! Do your job or give up the collar! It’s better for you to enter HELL on your own than to take a whole congregation with you! The BIBLE says a “greater condemnation” awaits those that lead others astray!

STOP the presses.Christians, public figures or not are under NO obligation to discuss gay rights, issues, people , or whatever. IMHO, it is the gay community (people) that need to do all of the talking with regard to wjhat they want. Christians, real christians need to stand on their Christian values…but so that we are clear, and I’m not mislabeled. True Christians love and accept everyone. True Christians speak the truth about homosexuality and the Bible’s description. ie, I love you, but being gay is biblically wrong. I love you, and I can worship God with you, but you are doing something wrong. I accept you as my brother/sister, but you are acting against God’s will. True Christians know where they stand, they do not hate, nor fear. The people you see protesting and hoping that homosexuals come to ill fates are NOT true Christians. IMO they are terrorists with extremist agendas….and we real Christians don’t negotiate our faith under ANY circ**stance.

Gays must be reasonable about their “choice”. If they want civil unions, that’s fine they can even be “allowed” rights but if our country “submits” to their aggressive demands for parity; it does so at its own risk. They do not and cannot procreate which a man and a woman do.
marriage is ours civil union is or can be theirs.
