Eating Healthy Means Switching From White To Wheat

By Latwanas Stephens September 24, 2009 9:00 am

stackobread_vt0305Eating healthy can be really simple.  You can make small changes to get you started.  I made the switch from white to wheat years ago and I was very resistant to anything that had to do with eating healthy.  You know, we just don’t like change.

I have a friend that started me off on the right track and I can remember her trying to get me to eat different foods that she would make and I just wouldn’t do it.  I would turn my nose up.  She came to live with me and I was able to see first hand how simple it was and now I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way.  I am going to share with you some simple changes you can make to get you going in the right direction.

Pasta – switch from white to 100% whole wheat.

Sugar – switch from white to cane or raw

Breads – switch from white to 100% whole wheat.

It is not that much more expensive but it is a lot more healthier for you.  Begin reading your nutrition labels.

Do you notice the trend?  It is just switching everything in your cabinet that is white to 1005 whole wheat.  Stay away from multi-grain.  It is just a bunch of grains blended together.

Once you begin eating healthy, you will love the changes you will begin to see in your body and how you feel overall.

These are just a few changes that I made and it helped me to start on the path to eating healthy and losing the weight I needed to.  You will see a huge difference in your nutritional program.  You will feel better and less bloated.

Make the switch today!  Take your first step to eating healthy.  Make the small changes and you will see a big difference.

I think it should be said that enriched whole wheat is not that much better than white bread…Its important that the label says 100% whole wheat. Also, many people may not know, but bread contains sugar. Its important that your bread choice not contain sugar, or high fructose corn syrup etc.

This is all great advice, everything she stated is true. I also would advise cutting out any processed foods(i.e. ramon noodles, rice a roni, pasta roni, boxed potatoes)all of those things have refined sugar and are full of bad things and high sodium. They are terrible for you and make you store belly fat. Going organic is the way to go :)
