My 2009 Resolution

By Dr. Lindsay Marsh January 9, 2009 6:31 pm

Wow. 2009!

I am so thankful to see another year, family. God is so good to us. You know, I reflect back on 2008, and I remember the grace of God. We experienced safe travel on the road and by air. My family and I were protected from car-jacking, murders, theft, recession and the things we see on the nightly news. I think back on how we were kept from dangers, seen and unseen. In the operating room, the Lord was with me, as an anesthesiologist, empowering me with good judgment during emergent and non-emergent times. He is faithful. In moments of harsh criticism and persecution, the Lord showed His favor and covered me. I am so thankful to just KNOW God. I have decided to learn from and appreciate 2008, and enter 2009 with a fresh desire to seek His face. I have been blessed with “stuff”. Cool. Yet, I find my true happiness and fulfillment in His presence and His perfect will. Man, the times of worship that I have had in my bedroom, behind closed doors, have been the best. Those moments have literally, kept me. I plan to worship God more in 2008. For 2008, I have set myself to keep first things first, hunger and thirst for righteousness…..and chase Him, like I used to. I have made a decision to love God, for real. When I was a sophomore at GW, I had a special relationship with the Lord. At that time, I realized that I could not do ANYTHING without Him. Not school, not dating, not life, not studying, not chillin……NOTHING! I challenge you to REMEMBER the moment you fell in love with Jesus and made Him your first love. Center this New Year on the love of your life. What have you allowed to keep you from the love of your life? Work? School? Business? Serving? People? Sin? Selfish desires? Destractions? I always remember the words of my Pastor, Dr. Mike Freeman: “New beginnings must be internal before they are external. New beginnings must be private before they are public”. Your new beginning for 2009 must be an internal change to produce an eternal change. I challenge you to have a continual private encounter with the Lord, so that He can promote you publicly.

I am praying that we see the hand and favor of God, like we have never seen in all our days.

Yours for the 2009 REVOLUTION, Dr. Lindsay Marsh.
