Build A Life That Will Stand The Test Of Time

When I think about all that I have come through, there is one thing for sure that keeps me going. It’s my ability to hope, trust, and to let go of the past. I am such a believer in the individual that I feel the need to not address crowds but individuals. We have to remember that we have the power to build a life that is pleasing to God as well as ourselves. You can’t expect a life to stand on a foundation that is broken or shattered. This is why it’s so important to build your life the right way because the reality is that storms will come and problems will arise but if you build your life on a solid structure and in a solid way it will be able to stand no matter what you face. So you maybe you are thinking where do I start now that I am already a grown man or woman? How do I began again and build this life that Javen is speaking about? Well there are a couple of things I want to bring to your attention that might be at least a starting point for you on the path of building you the right way.
I think that we usually hope more when things are going well but when we face tough times it’s really hard to have hope. One of the definitions for the word hope means that it’s “possible”. Your possibilities don’t have to be realistic or factual it just has to be within your mind’s eye or your imagination. This is what starts a downward pattern to no return when it comes to building our life. We must first realize that we can and should have hope that goes beyond our natural ability. One of the best ways to began to hope again would be to find out who you are as a person. The image in the mirror is very ugly sometimes but you have to be willing to take a good look at what needs to be worked on and what’s working for you. Think about it, you would never look in the mirror while getting dress, see a hair out of place and just leave it sticking out before leaving the house. Chances are you would find a comb or brush and try to put the hair back in place before going to your destination. It is the same way with who you are as a person. You have got to become very comfortable with looking in the mirror and saying I need to work on this or this is out of place in my life so it has to change today!
In closing I feel the need to address the fact that not only are you building your life but you are also learning to love who you are. No one in their right mind would build a house they don’t want to live in but many of us have bought houses with great potential to live in. So it’s ok to not love everything about yourself but remember the potential that’s on the inside of you and the possibilities that can come out of it. Loving yourself doesn’t mean agreeing with everything about yourself it means being ok with the fact that you know that good, bad, or ugly there is such worth and value in the frame and foundation of your life. Be willing to build you all over again even if it means tearing down some areas to make room for new areas in your life. You’ll be glad you did because a life worth living is a life worth building.

Javen, this particular blog has been my favorite one yet. I was at a destination in my life 10 years ago;I had to re-examine myself and do exactly as you say, find myself, love me through all seasons, while building a new foundation. The old wine was not merging with the new. Letting go to let God was hard, easy, and yet difficult. Years later, I have a life worth living!!! All things are possible with God!! We must count everything “All Joy,” if we are going to live/serve and work/love this race/nation to the highest. Appreciate the wisdom. “To conqueor is to first surrender.” C.
