Is Michael Jackson In Heaven?

By Sharnell Blevins June 27, 2009 2:00 am

As you know, on June 25, Michael J. Jackson died at UCLA Hospital in Los Angeles.  People will be remembering him for his catalog of music.  Some will remember him for his outstanding work ethic.  Some will remember the little boy learning to walk.  And, some will even remember for his child molestation cases.  Many Christians are wondering did Michael ever accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior.  Is Michael Jackson in heaven with our Lord?

Michael Jackson was raised a Jehovah’s Witness by his parents.  In 1987, Michael disassociated himself from the Jehovah’s Witness.  According to Belief.net, Jehovah’s Witness believe in Christ as Lord and Savior. They believe he is a spirit being but inferior to God and not part of the Godhead.  He is just God’s son sent to earth as a perfect human.  And, they believe that after resurrection, he was exalted to a level higher than angel because prior to time he was the Archangel Michael.

For salvation in the Jehovah’s Witness faith, one must show faith in God and in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and must conform to Jehovah’s Witness practices and principles.  They believe there is no life after death until Christ comes back to earth to resurrection the dead for his father, God.  So the Jehovah’s Witness believe that Michael Jackson has not ascended into Heaven yet.  And, he is just dead.

But what does the Christian believe?  Could Michael be in Heaven right now?  Could Michael be in Hell?  The Christian believes based on 2 Corinthians 5:8 that to be “… away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.”  We believe that Christians are immediately transported to the Father in Heaven when they die.  But, how are you able to get to Heaven?

Jesus says to Nicodemus in John 3:16 that God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.  That everlasting life is with God in Heaven.  But, how do you show God that you believe in His Son, Jesus?

Paul explains in Romans 10:9 that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.  That’s it.  That’s all you have to do to be saved.  That’s the way into God’s kingdom.  “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” is given to us in Ephesians 2:8-9.

God did not make it a long process.  He wants a relationship with you.  He wanted to make it simple so you know He loves you.  He understands that many things take up your time and the enemy is trying to distract you.  God in His infinite wisdom made salvation simple and easy so that we could establish our relationship with Him.  He wants us as His own children.  Every one of us He wants to claim as His.  John 1:12 says “but to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.”  Not some of us could be His children.  But, all of us have the right to become His children all we have to do is laid out for us in Romans 10:9.

Several sources are reporting that Michael Jackson did just what was written above- that he confessed with his mouth and believed with his heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, died for his sins, and was raised from the dead by God.  Some say it happened recently.  Others say he’s been saved for years.  No one except God and Michael Jackson will know if he was truly saved and when it happened, if it did.

Michael Jackson had almost 51 years on this earth to answer Christ’s knock on the door.  It says in Revelation 3:20, “behold I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.”  Michael Jackson being in Heaven right now is not the point.  What about you?  Have you taken the step to ensure your salvation and your entrance into Heaven?  God is waiting for you right now.  Below is a sample prayer you can say to God right now for salvation.

God, I thank you for loving me.  I believe you sent your Son, Jesus Christ to earth to die on the cross for my sins.  I believe that you, God, raised your Son, Jesus, from the dead.  Please forgive me of all of my sins.  Thank you, God.  Amen.

Congratulations!  You are now a child of God.  May God always receive glory through your life.  Welcome into the family.  And, now you know you have salvation and have a place in Heaven.

I liked this post. It helped me think about my own relationship with God versuses focusing on MJ. I really hope he is not suffering. Each of us holds the key. Time is so unexpected. With all these high profile deaths you just can’t help feel your mortality. God have mercy on all of us.

“Last night we received some good news from Terri McFaddin-Solomon who is good friends with Sandra Crouch. Three weeks ago Sandra and Andre’ spent some time with their close friend, Michael Jackson. Michael asked Andre` to play, “It Won’t Be Long And We’ll Be Leaving Here.” Michael then prayed with Sandra and Andre and accepted Christ into his heart. Now he’s singing in the heavenly choir.! Our hearts rejoice!”

My salvation is rooted in my belief as Jesus as my Lord and savior, not which moment I arrive in the Kingdom. I’m going to be in the Kingdom, period. I can’t account for anyone else, I don’t have a heaven or hell to put anyone in.

I choose to believe Michael recently did accept Jesus. This may be the reason God took him. I don’t know. But my heart goes out to his family.

Reality is we are not to judge the Man based on his Life here on earth. When we look at the bible story and the thief on the cross along side Jesus. He had done nothing good in his Life however at that moment he confessed Christ as Savior and God said that he would join him in Heaven. None of us can account for MJ’s every waking moment.

His life on earth speaks for where he shall go, and is, he in heaven. God is enjoying him now.

I was so in shock, and stunned, I had just attended a sick little girl funeral, who passed by complication of Leukemia. To hear this news, took me for a loop, I’m so sad, I cant stop seeing all those tributes for our King of Pop, Michael will forever be one of my favorite entertainer, and no matter how long ago, the song- PYT, Ben, and too many more songs to list, Dancing Machine, just to name a few, the most recent, Man in the Mirror. God, let him dance as he did, here, let him do what he did best here on earth. Sadly miss, and much prayers and condolences, for the Jackson Family. Janet, dance in honor of your brother now, every day, love you all!!!

Definitely. He can escape from the pain and judgment from the media and all the people who were so cruel to him. He deserves it. Anywhere he can go to get away from it all. He had a bad heart because people stomped all over it. No matter who people thought he was, no matter how weird he was, No matter where he is, he’s in peace. Rest In Peace, Sweetie. Finally. :-)

Its not your right or job to even contemplate whether this man went to heaven or not… thats between him and God. How do you even know you are right about the requirements to get into heaven? I hope you don’t feel too embarrassed if you’re wrong. *which you probably are*
so lets leave the condemnation up to God, huh?

Encouragement On The Way

From William Ketts

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:1,2, KJV). When we remember all the benefits of being a child of God, and keep them in mind, our souls will be flooded with joy and thanksgiving to God. Isn’t it wonderful that we can bless the Lord Who blesses us?
