When Christians Shouldn’t Quote The Bible

There are entirely too many dumb Christians on the loose today. Entirely too many. Yes, on the loose. Running around, causing problems.

Dumb Christians? Yes. There are Christians that, not only don’t know what they believe, but don’t know how to rationalize or defend their beliefs with anything other than scriptures or what they heard at church. And this is a problem. Because it makes Christians, as a whole, and our faith, look incredibly foolish and baseless when in fact, the very opposite is true. Christian faith can be easily and logically be explained, even without using Scripture. There are, obviously, a few exceptions, but the basic truths and principles for living can be articulated without reading directly from the Word.

When Christians are witnessing, sharing their testimony, or evangelizing — for the few of them that aren’t embarrassed to share their faith — it’s especially important to understand and be able to articulate the truths, concepts and principles from the Bible. We have to be able to explain biblical truths without using the Bible as our crutch or our excuse for lack of knowledge.

To say it another way: You only know something as well as you can teach it to someone else. And most of the time, teachers don’t read directly from the textbooks to make sure they’re teaching the right things. They have the knowledge ingrained in them. may use to textbook to learn from and then to supplement our teaching.

Unbelievers simply don’t care about the Bible. Why should they? Do we care what the Qur’an says? No, of course not. Most non-Christians think that the Bible might be true or that it might have good ideas, but to leave your brain at home and reason with the Bible as your only tool, you’re walking into a losing fight. We fail to realize that Christianity is an intelligent man’s religion; it’s not designed for a bunch of morons to aimlessly follow, like drones — yet sadly, that’s more often than not precisely what ends up happening. In other words: You can think about it, reason it out, and it consistently holds up to the scrutiny.

Don’t hear me wrong, the Bible is very important. Rather, it’s crucial, and unavoidable in the life of a believer. It is absolutely without error and 100 percent God inspired and accurate, even thousands of years after it’s authoring. It is literally the Word of God. However, it’s also a very logical book. It’s truths and principles are universally applicable and irrespective of time, culture, and even faith. In other words, everyone can learn from the Bible, yet few would if they knew what they were learning from was the Bible.

It’s important to study, comprehend, know, and understand the Bible. However, you can’t rely on quoting a specific verse when dealing with an unbeliever; they’ll quickly pull the whole “the Bible isn’t accurate and it contradicts itself” argument — which I’m sure you’d rather avoid altogether — and stop listening to a word that you have to say. Then you’ve lost the chance to impact them. Don’t be one of those dumb Christians running amuck in the streets across the world. Rather, be a smart Christian — one that’s able to articulate and understand the Biblical principles that the world so obviously needs to understand and apply themselves. But how can they understand if they’re not told? And how can they be told if everyone is silent? Speak up with God’s Truth.

We can only serve one God (not Gods) if we truly want eternal life and peace within our lives. What people need to know is that they’re false gods claiming to be God, but there’s only one true and living God and he’s the creator of life. No other gods can claim to have created life because they cannot. False gods worship the flesh, monuments of themselves, money and greed. They can be very manipulative and deceiving. Take away their monuments and their monies and you’ll find that they’re powerless. False gods will interpret the “Bible” to you for monetary gain. They will pretend to have your best interests at heart but, in reality only God the creator has your interest at heart.

Whenever you read the Bible seek HIM first and he’ll open up so many doors and your wisdom will soar above all mankind. They are so many followers of false gods so do not look up to them for salvation. They can only offer you material things and only if they choose to because what they truly seek is your flesh. They will say things to you, for instance, in Jesus name. These are the same one’s that crucified Christ. They’ll have you believe that Christ was the only prophet that walked the earth and only through his name you’ll be saved. This is true to a certain point and that point is “Christ” represent prophets of the past and the future. So, when they say “in Jesus name” what they’re actually referring to are all the prophets of God the creator whether they know it or not.

The true and living God, the creator of the heavens and earth has more than one prophet and they all represent HIM. He is God the Father, the Son (or Sons “prophets”) and the Holy Spirit. When “Christ” walks the earth again majority of us will not know because our beliefs are very controversial. This is why “the chosen are few”. In fact, read the Bible (or continue to read the Bible) and you’ll see that “Christ” did walked the earth again(under another name of course)in the 20th century and was crucified (killed) again by followers of false gods. God Sons are chosen and their names are most likely never the same. God Sons carry his messages through the flesh and lives eternally through the Holy Spirit. There’s so much you can learn but true divine knowledge only comes to you when you seek God the creator of life first.

ok soooooo i see where the author was headed as many of us did, but i think the important point that He didn’t explain thoroghly which is actually found in the bible is to Study to show yourself approved, how can u teach whats in the book if u don’t know for yourself….. these dumb christians that he talked about, in my opinion look at christianity as a lazy mans religion (believe in Jesus and His resurrection and receive a get out of Hell free card.) When in actuality, its true your not saved by your works but your really saved so that u can work (don’t be a worker of iniquity)…. this work is the spreading of the good news…. for more details just send me a note!!!!

Umm,this article is stupid. This guy did all this talking about what the bible is and how Christians need to be ready to defend their religion in a duel with a non-believer but didn’t offer up suggestions on how they should go about doing it. Bah humbug.

Another thing this ahole says is “Unbelievers simply don’t care about the Bible. Why should they? Do we care what the Qur’an says? No, of course not.”

Based on this statement you make yourself look uneducated. As an Atheist I am very interested in what the bible and other text say. How else should I know if I should follow something without giving it a try. Truth is most Atheist are intelligent people who seek truth, therefore knowing about version religions and their teaching are the norm for Atheist. I myself even love Mahalia Jackson, but let me get this right, because I am an Atheist I am not allowed to like Mahalia. This guy proved why most Christians don’t know much about their bible or the origins of their religion when he said “Do we care what the Qur’an says? No, of course not.” This is the most close-minding individual ever. And this is the typical mindset of a Christian.

Danieldevers is correct. How do you articulate and explain without using the Bible when the Bible is the basis of your whole freakin religion?
Let’s take on the hot topic, homosexuality. The Bible, in a number of instances,(not just a specific verse)clearly rejects homosexuality. On the other hand it teaches us to love all. Homosexuals want their union blessed under holy matrimony. This, in my opinion, conflicts with Bible teaching, or am I wrong? Should Christians say we love you, but we can’t marry you, which is the same as saying we love you, but you can’t symbolize your love to each other under christian marriage. Do we allow homosexuals in the church? Is letting homosexuals in the church with the knowledge that they are engaging in homosexual behavior wrong?
