Gentlemen, Learn To Look Past The Booty

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

Gentlemen, I know in a society where women put everything on display, even things they shouldn’t, it can be difficult to walk out your faith in the area of dating. I have listened to enough of you tell me that keeping your thoughts pure is right next to impossible when so many women deliberately or ignorantly walk around with their chichees and butt on display for the world to see. Yes, that word is “chichees.” I spelled it phonetically so that there would be no confusion. God created you a sexual being. You have more sexual thoughts in a month than some women have in a year. That is just how your Creator wired you. And it is a good thing. But the same God who made you, knows your heart as well. And let me tell you, he would not create a desire in you if he didn’t have a plan already in place to fulfill it.

As a mother of a son, who is entering puberty, I will tell you the same thing I tell him, and the same thing I have warned my single brothers who have come to me for advice on dating and pursuing a wife. WATCH HER CHARACTER. See if who she professes to be matches who she says she is. Don’t involve yourself with a woman of poor character. I don’t care if she is “fine as hell!” Because that’s probably where she comes from. Don’t think you can “dabble” and walk away. You will get “got.” To the degree that you don’t is just God’s mercy in action.

I’m not saying that you have to date or marry a mud duck. If you don’t find her attractive, you don’t find her attractive – pure and simple. But make sure you know why you don’t. The same is true for attraction. If your attraction to a woman is purely physical, then the relationship is doomed from the start. Obviously, I am not addressing those of you who are out “ho-in.’” But Man of Substance, hear me today. Hair grays. Boobies and butts sag (you know, unless they’re fake). Skin thins. Teeth sometimes leave and need to be replaced. But character, the soul, with proper care and nurturing only improves and flourishes.

So look beyond her shape, to her heart. Observe her character to see who she is – and be prayin’ the whole time. If God wants you married, then be sure that he wants you to have a godly wife, who will support your vision and be a help-meet to you. He wants the two of you to raise godly children, who will impact the world. You want somebody who is going to come alongside you and work this life out with you, someone who will have your back, cover you in prayer daily, and speak life into your weary soul when the world has worn you out. You want and need a godly woman. So, Please, please, please, as your sister Christ, I beg you, do not settle for good looks alone.

LOL…@ Mister. That last comment was funny as hell. But i will check you on something. The word “hottentot” origionated from the Europeans who took a young girl named Sara Bartman from her home in Africa back in the early 1800s, and were so facinated by her large breast and enormous behind, they put her in a circus and made her dance. The only clothing she was permitted to wear was dirt…they nicked her something in their language that translated “Hottentot venus”…she later died @ the age of 24 from STDs, VIs, and Lonliness. even after her death they had her corps on display until i think 2003 then they finally sent her remains back to Africa for a proper buriel.

In my opinion, this is 100% BS. I am an attractive woman with the face and the body, but I also possess other qualities. Why is so much focus placed on an attractive woman? It’s as if beautiful women have to damn near apologize for being attractive. So whose heart or character is really in question? People should accept others for who they are despite their appearance. If they can’t, then that’s their insecurities. Let’s be real. The first thing you notice about a person is the physical. The rest comes after. I find it ridiculous to believe that someone you would consider less attractive more Godly. We’re all God’s children. This is crazy using spirituality to justify a reason to determine if a woman has a good heart or character by her attractiveness, her body. This should apply to all women. Her appearance should not be a determining factor.

Probably not, we get to see what you show us. So maybe the problem is what you wear and not what we look at?

Sheeri I feel you but cant we look at both. Personally I love smart women. I’m a big reader and it would be impossible for me to be with a woman that didn’t have the same desire for knowledge that I have. With that said, I’m Sorry for the stereotype but I,m a black man. We have a scientifically proven addiction to large booties. Can be help sorry! Now I do think we must be respectful to our beautiful woman. However I think woman don’t know their own power. For instant my wife and I had problems in the past and I wanted a way out. Once we were having a spat. She screamed at me and said “I’m moving out” She then turned around and went up the stairs. As she went up stairs I watched her beautiful body slowly disappear. I realize it could have been the last time I ever saw it. So…..I went up stair apologized and vowed my everlasting love. That was 4 years ago and we haven’t had a problem since. See ladies the Booty has Power!

It depends on the guy. Some guys don’t sit around gawking at asses and making it the sole reason to talk to a female. Many guys do consider whether or not a woman is wholesome and has morals. You can’t assume that a man is basing his relationships or intimacy on the physical features of a woman.

Come On Now…How stupid does that sound? Look, if history has taught us one thing, it’s that we (Men) have always been a focused on one thing. Hey, I’m all for progress, uplifting, and evolving. But let’s be real for a minute. We may advance as far as technology and that sort of thing but the one thing that will never change is the fact that humans respond to each other physically and emotionally. Wars between countries have been fought over the booty. Marc Antony left Ceasar and Rome for some royal booty (Cleopatra). And in this day & age, we still are no different. I understand exactly what u are saying, and by reading some of theses other comments I don’t think your point was digested properly. Speaking from experience I can tell u that the fine ones are sometimes the ones that the relationship does not work out well, don’t get me wrong I like a womens body parts just as much as any man but I had to ask myself a question, “is this fine sexy lady really worth stress, drama and or no peace of mind”? I’m not saying all women with nice bodies bring the afore mentioned into relationships but I believe 7 out of 10 it’s possible.

Physical attraction (the booty, face, breast..etc) is where love starts for men and women too. I find it interesting that the author states not to be choosing people for their physical attributes, however she also comments ‘I’m not saying that you have to date or marry a mud duck’

booty is i the eye of the beholder.. and it will be in the palm of hand later! lol but seriously though, i think this has to do more with physical attraction over overall personality, which i think is wrong. a big butt and a smile is great but not with the wrong attitude. and not just the wrong attitude, what if there’s no chemistry there? if those things among others aren’t in place, then i won’t even try to go very far or nowhere at all with that person. So many people quoting the bible on here no one has mention God made man and woman naked. Obviously he made them attracted to body parts so why wouldn’t my man look. ….This commentary ignores the fact that admiring the beauty of black women has been passed down for generations…In the Hottentot tribe, the bigger the womans backside the more beautiful she appeared. The same is true in many other African tribes as well. THe black mans fascination with the black woman is not a new phenomenon. I agree that a womans mental and spritual sides are important, but don’t tell me to ignore the power of a magnificent behind. I just can’t do that.

Bravo!!!Finally a good, spiritual brain behind the article! People just don’t know how “got” they have really become. The devil has GOT a good portion of society today. Sexual lust and sin is abundant and we have become so desensitized to sex that we don’t even realize what has happened to us. So many people have played straight into the devil’s twisted little hands and people are so ignorant, they don’t even realize it. Wow! Great article but a little one-sided. I would first have to disagree that God created men as sexual beings. I believe according to the story, Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, noticed each other naked and became sexual beings. Eve had to be “fine as hell” to get Adam to disobey God. Probably said “if you don’t eat this apple, you not getting no applebottom.” LOL Ok bad joke.

I believe the scripture says “be fruitful and multiply.” Not go out have great sex and enjoy it whenver you can. Matter of interpretation as is most of the bible, I guess.

Anyway, we live in a society where EVERYTHING is about the physical pleasure for both men and women, especially for men. Women are paraded around as being these sexual objects of desire, especially our black women because of their assets. Everywhere you look, black women are naked or in something tight in the videos, the tv, on the street, etc, etc. The radio verbally relays the same message.

Many women, not all, go to the closet on a Friday night and pull out the tightest pair of jeans, the shortest dress, etc that they find so they can look “sexy.” Well, if you take of the “y”, you get sex. So sexy is being promoted as one is being “sexy.”

Sex is promoted at every possible opportunity, so until society changes, very little will change about both men and womens mindsets when it comes to the physical perspective.

telling a man to look past the BOOTY is like telling a woman to look past the WALLET it will never happen in this life time, but i know that you as an idividual can look with out all the lust, admiering a woman because she shape, and looks good isn’t all bad, that why even you the auther keeps herself up. nasty is nasty, and i feel like most men don’t really go for nasty, no matter what you the auther might think. GIVE us credit we have come a long way since cave man days. i love a woman that looks good, so do woman..lol, and as far as the statement about sexuall thoughts between the genders you need to check your facts, woman think about sex just as much as men, the are the number on buyers of the trashie books that are out today.
