Justin Bieber has come a long way since his days of defiling the portraits of former U.S. Presidents – the global superstar recently visited Latin America and rolled up his sleeves for the greater good.

After performing a show in Guatemala City, Bieber made a pit stop in the impoverished village to help build a school for children in tandem with the nonprofit organization Pencils of Promise, which has built over 100 schools since 2008.

The star tweeted about his experience in the village, saying: “Today was 1 of the most powerful and humbling days of my life. Thank u Guatemala & @PencilsofPromise. Today I saw real happiness. So powerful.”
