Sherri Shepherd is a terrible mom who woefully neglects her 9-year-old special needs son — he can barely write, reads at a 2nd-grade level, and can’t tie his shoes — so claims the boy’s father, who’s now gunning to rip custody from “The View” host.
Jeffrey Tarpley — Sherri’s ex-husband — filed an emergency request in April to modify the couple’s current custody arrangement … specifically, Tarpley wants full physical custody of their son, Jeffrey Jr. Tarpley claims Sherri’s non-stop work schedule — “The View,” “The Newlywed Game,” various TV acting roles, book tours, films — has caused her to neglect their son completely.

Her estranged husband wanted her to sign an agreement promising that she would “enjoy sex” and not get fat, according to TMZ. What also came across to us as odd were the many other equally strange things he asked Sherri to sign off on:
- “I enjoy having sex with my husband. I crave intimacy with him and want to be uninhibited and free in our lovemaking.”
- “My body is important to me. I strive to maintain a healthy body weight and exercise at least three times a week.”
Sherri and Lamar’s prenup would serve to protect her $10 million fortune. But the fighting doesn’t stop at the prenup between these two, Lamar has also filed for full custody of their unborn baby boy. The child is being carried by a surrogate and is due in July.
Interesting little tidbit, Jeffrey filed his papers BEFORE Sherri’s current husband Lamar Sally filed for separation. Lamar wants custody of his and Sherri’s unborn child … so Jeffrey’s arguments could hurt her on both fronts.
However, Lamar called foul on the report and said the split is a result of their changing and conflicting views on marriage.
“I did not want her to sign an amendment to our prenup,” he later clarified to TMZ. “We had a lot of love in our marriage. I still love her. To no one’s fault, at some point, we started to view marriage differently.”
One source close to the couple told People that few believed Lamar and Sherri were a match made in Heaven.
“I don’t think any of us thought this was the right guy for her. He’s a very nice man, but he can’t keep up with her. She is a force of nature. The girl works morning to night,” the anonymous source said. “She needs somebody that’s her equal emotionally, intellectually and financially.”
