We’re all familiar with the basic “good” skin routine: wash your face twice a day, drink lots of water (I’m guilty of this one), always use sunscreen (even on cloudy days), don’t smoke and get plenty of sleep. What’s not so basic is what you put into your body that can help you achieve even more gorgeous skin! Stock up on these five foods the next time you go grocery shopping.
Blueberries
Fruits are good for you. Blueberries are one of the best of the best. They are not only packed with antioxidants, which protects skin cells, they also preserves collagen and helps your skin fight wrinkles.
Avocado
This is one of my favorite foods of all time! Avocados contain moisturizing vitamin E that keeps your skin hydrated and it also adds a shield against the sun for UV protection! Like blueberries, they work to protect against free radicals. There are so many creative ways to eat your avocados, but did you see this yummy avocado coconut popsicle recipe?

Sweet Potatoes
One of my favorite post-workout snacks, sweet potatoes contain beta-carotene, which produces vitamin A. Vitamin A increases cell turnover and protects the skin. This tasty treat also contains something called retinoids which is a popular ingredient in many skin care products.
Red Bell Peppers
Red bell peppers are an excellent source of wrinkle-fighting, radiance-boosting vitamin C.
Salmon
Eating salmon will keep your skin soft and smooth! Salmon is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, which contain alpha-linolenic acid and helps to reduce skin inflammation.
