Recently the Lord told me that the season for my dessert business had come to an end. I responded very sarcastically saying, “Well what am I going to do now?” And he politely told me DIVA, Ink.

For those who don’t know, God told me that I was a writer back in 1997. At the time, I hadn’t written a thing. I had no desire to write and to be honest I was intimidated by the process and afraid that I would fail. So I ran. During that same time frame, He gave me the name of my ministry DIVA, Ink. DIVA is an acronym which stands for Divine Intervention Via the Anointing of God. Ink is based on 2 Corinthians 3:3

3You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. (2 Corinthians 3:3; NIV)

The purpose of the ministry is to share the love of God and teach His Word, through the written and spoken word.

Despite His instructions and leading I ran. I attempted to dibble and dabble in writing but for the most part, it was too much for me and I pursued my own desires: music, marketing, public relations, cooking, anything but full- time writing.

In 2004, I started an online dessert bar-bistro called Fat & Healthy, specializing in high and low calorie desserts and entrees. Cooking is truly my passion and although I was in my zone, I still was not operating at my full potential. In 2009 a dear friend asked me to consider becoming a blogger for Elev8. I accepted the invitation, not thinking much of it. Little did I know that my weekly post would help me develop a gift that I ran from for 12 years. In addition,  it would ignite a desire in me to fulfill the call of writing, speaking and ministering to God’s people.

I don’t know what God has called you to do, but don’t be like me and run. Embrace it. Yes it is scary! Yes it is something new. And no, you are not in control. But God loves you. And He knows what is best for you.  Ironically, what you are running from will be the thing that you will love the most and end up running to. I can attest to that.

I am happy to announce that my dessert bar will officially close May 1, 2010. And I have started working on my first book- The Chloe Chronicles (Life lessons I learned from my cocker spaniel).

Join me and fulfill the destiny that God has for your life. No longer running from but running to; no longer allowing the failures and mistakes of the past to hinder you from fulfilling your God given purpose. Try again. I promise, you will be glad that you did.

Thank you for walking with me as I rediscovered my path. Now let’s walk together as you discover yours.

We are victorious!

God Bless!
