7 Biblical Affirmations To Manifest Your Goals

1 Chronicles 4:9-10 details the story of a descendant of Judah. His mother named him Jabez, a Hebrew word meaning “distress,” because of how painful his birth had been. In those days your name held the weight of your destiny and after experiencing enough “distress” and “pain” in his own life, he cried out to God for help. In His despair, he pleaded, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” The Bible says, “And God granted him his request.”
One can only imagine the prior difficulty Jabez had making progress in the various areas of his life. Maybe his business ventures kept failing. Maybe his love life was in shambles. Perhaps those he was supposed to be able to trust betrayed him. Whatever the circumstances were, it was clear he couldn’t move forward without God’s assistance. He needed supernatural help to change the trajectory of his life.
Jabez got to experience God as “Ebenezer,” God our Helper. The compassionate God who wants us to succeed. His story is proof that you can go to God about anything.
Jesus affirmed this when He said in Matthew 7:7-12, “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”
Whether you need help finishing school, raising your family, or creating healthier habits, know that God is available to you. You can cry out to him for help – just like Jabez – and be confident that you too will make strides.
As you continue, use his Word as affirmations over your progress.
