GMA To Host The Future Legacy Hip-Hop Showcase During Dove Awards Week

The Dove Awards is rapidly approaching. But first, Dove Week, the celebration leading up to the awards show, kicks off on Saturday in Nashville, TN.
From Saturday September 28 to Tuesday October 1st, fans will be able to get a glimpse at some of the leading and upcoming talent in Gospel and Christian music. There are several events to look forward to such as a celebrity basketball game, Dove Classic Golf Tournament and lunch on The General Jackson showboat.
But, music reigns supreme as there are also various showcases on deck. On September 28, GMA is presenting The Future Legacy Hip-Hop Showcase featuring Torey D’Shaun, Yung Kriss, Toyalove, Vic Lucas, Jeannie Ortega, and Alex Jean. Alex Jean is a rap artist from Orlando, FL. He just released his latest EP “More Than Gold” in early September. During its first week of release, it hit number one under Apple Music’s Christian category.
There will also be a Latin music showcase, Bluegrass/Roots showcase and a songwriters showcase. This is all being done with the GMA’s goal in mind to expose, promote and celebrate the Gospel through music. Tickets for all Dove Week events can be found here.
The 55th Annual Dove Awards is set to be taped on October 1st in Nashville. This week, they announced the second round of performers. You can expect to see Anike, Anne Wilson, CAIN, Chandler Moore joining Maverick City Music with Naomi Raine, and Tye Tribbett. There will also be a special multilingual performance of “Holy Forever” with Brian and Jenn Johnson, Miel San Marcos, and Gabriel Guedes.
Anthony Brown, Autumn Nelon, Bill Gaither, Colton Dixon, Darlene Zschech, David & Tamela Mann, DOE, for KING + COUNTRY, Gabby Barrett, Jekalyn Carr, Lecrae, Matthew West, Michael W. Smith, Rachael Lampa, Rhett Walker, Sarai Rivera, and Steven Curtis Chapman are all slated to appear at the awards show as presenters.
The Dove Awards will air on Friday October 4th at 8 p.m. on TBN and TBN+.
