Black Christian celebrities and community leaders coming out in support for Kamala Harris this Election Day. In an ad approved by the Harris-Walz campaign, gospel greats teamed up to get the word out about why they think Harris is the best choice for president.
“The faith community has always served as a beacon of hope in trying times and this election is no different,” the ad begins.

Featuring Yolanda Adams, Bishop William Murphy, Erica Campbell, Dr. Karri Turner, The Clark Sisters, Bishop Vashti McKenzie, Pastor Jamal Bryant and others, the group goes on to explain why people should vote for Harris. They argue making any other choice would be taking a step back when it’s important to push democracy forward.
“We are going to remember this moment forever,” said Bishop William Murphy in the ad. “The moment we chose joy and freedom as a new way forward. Some say faith and politics don’t mix, but freedom and hope do.”
The ad goes on to describe Harris’ characteristics with the group saying she has the ability to connect with anyone from any background. The faith leaders said she can reach across the aisle to work with Republicans in Washington D.C. and collaboration is needed in the White House.
“She exudes integrity, dignity, humanity and empathy” said Dr. Karri Turner and Bishop Amos Brown. “She can reach across the aisle, any aisle and get things done. That’s what we need in the White House.”
The gospel greats also said they believe a Harris win is a win for Americans everywhere. They even referenced The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard that Jesus told his disciples in the book of Matthew.
“The time is now,” said Yolanda Adams and The Clark Sisters. “Each of us are called to our own vineyard. This is Kamala’s. When our sister wins, we all win.”
The ad ends with encouraging everyone to get out there and vote on November 5. If you haven’t voted yet, you can find your polling place at IWillVote.com.
